Rotherham Safe Space supports anyone experiencing a mental health crisis in Rotherham and the surrounding areas. It provides a safe place during the weekend evenings designed for people in crisis to go for support and to prevent avoidable attendances at A&E.
What we offer:
We offer a confidential non-clinical alternative to A & E aimed at reducing distress and working with people to resolve or better manage crisis they are experiencing.
- A warm, person-centered approach to crisis support.
- Relaxed social space from 8pm to 11:45pm
- One-to-one, in-person support
- Remote support via phone & Zoom.
- Homemade food and drinks.
- Individual and group activities.
- We can arrange transport, if needed to bring people into the Rotherham Safe Space.
Rotherham Safe Space is currently open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 6pm to midnight.
(as from Monday 23Rd October, Safe Space will also be open on Monday evenings.)

How to refer:
To refer yourself (if you feel you are in crisis) or someone you work with, please call us on the below phone number on the evening you or the person you are working with would like to come along for support.
To secure support, it is best to call between 6-7pm; however, we do take late referrals wherever possible and our phone lines are open until midnight.

We will then contact you to let you know whether or not we have space to support you that evening.Sometimes we may not be able to support you that evening but we will always let you know and try to talk you through other options available. All referrals from the weekdays are actioned on our first working evening which is the Friday, any subsequent referrals will be contacted on the following nights.
