On average, over a third of our time is dedicated to work and, as such, it forms an essential part of our daily lives.

Having a fulfilling job often equates to happiness, positive mental health and wellbeing, however many of us have faced times when simply life and work gets on top of us, especially over the last year with the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the workplace, everyone from employers, employees and businesses has a part to play in creating happy and healthy work environments. It’s vital that we protect those we work with to ensure efficient operations and create an environment where everyone can thrive, by addressing mental health at work for those with existing issues, for those at risk, and for the workforce as a whole. A toxic work environment can be corrosive to our mental health.

Good mental health at work and good management go hand in hand and there is strong evidence that workplaces with high levels of mental wellbeing are more productive.
